All three kids did pretty well in school.  Luke?s teachers are convinced that having him attend a second year of pre-school was the right thing to do and have no doubts that he is ready for Kindergarten now.  Abby will finally have to say goodbye to Mrs. Worthington.  You may remember that she had her for 2nd grade and that she moved to 3rd grade this year and happened to get Abby again.  She will miss the structure that this wonderful teacher demands and we can only hope that her 4th grade teacher will demand as much from her as well. Ann and I enjoyed a very quiet Memorial Day on Monday, staying indoors for most of the day and napping on and off!  The kids romped around in the pool for most of the afternoon, as it was a gorgeous day! I called Yahoo!, regarding importing our old blog entries to our new site and was basically told it could not be done.  So, I began the monumental task of doing it all manually that night.  I continued to work on it all week and finally completed the first half of them at the end of the week and began uploading them here.  It takes a really long time to do each post and change all the pictures and such, but it will be worth it in the end so we don?t lose them?so you will continue to see old posts as I manually edit and re-post them over here on the new site.<br \/>\n  On Wednesday, Matt and Abby played games simultaneously.  I helped coach Bu?s team as Ann bounced back and forth between the two fields (on opposite sides of the complex of course?).  Matt?s team lost a close one as he went 0-1 officially with a walk, fly out and run scored.  Abby?s team played in an incredible game?  These are the top two teams in the league, both undefeated.  The other team was huge (their coach jokingly quipped, ?I draft by shirt size???)!  The gals battled back in the top of the 6th inning to tie the game and then held them in the bottom to send it in to extra innings.  With the threat of impending darkness (and no lights), the pressure was on?  The girls did not disappoint, scoring 3 additional points, but leaving the bases loaded.  In the last half of the 7th, they got 2 quick outs but couldn?t manage to get the 3rd and made a couple of mental errors (there?s that pressure again!) that allowed them to score the winning run on a two-base error.  They were mortified and down, but their coach pulled them aside and we told them how proud we were of them.  It was a back and forth contest that promises a rematch in the year-end tourney!    Abby had a horrible game, going 0-3 with three strike-outs.  \ud83d\ude41<br \/>\n  Thursday was awards day for Bu.  Ann was in attendance to witness Abby receiving awards for both Hall of Fame Reader and A\/B Honor Roll!  That night, Lukey went 2-for-2 with a double, single and made several outs defensively as he continues to shine in his league.  Coach Derrick?s wife said the unofficial score (again, they don?t keep score in this league) was 18-7; thanks in part to the outstanding defense shown by the entire team. He actually won three awards, but was only recognized for two of them.  He received a Top 10 band award and a Regional Science Fair certificate.  He should have also won an Accelerated Reader award, as he earned the third highest total in his grade, clocking in with a whopping 262 points!  That night, Gracie spent the night with us as we went out to Abby?s softball game.  It was an unusually cool evening that saw the girls come back with a vengeance, winning easily 12-5.  Bu was officially 1-2 from the plate with a single, walk and strikeout.  She also got her first taste of the infield at shortstop!  She had a chance to get 1 grounder and 2 fly balls in her one and only inning. Luke was thrilled, as he associates this milestone with the arrival of summer.  Matt had a late afternoon game that was pushed back an hour with the start time finally coming at 5 pm.  Matt went 0-2 with a groundout and strikeout.  Defensively, he played both right field and second base.  The only action he got was a 6-4 putout at second to end the sixth inning.  The boys looked lethargic as they lost 9-3.  We took the kiddos out to El Reparo Mexican restaurant for supper before coming home and taking a cool, early evening dip in the pool.  I am very proud of the pool water?s clarity!
