It finally cooled down a little at the start of this week, but the reprieve sure didn?t last long… But for a short time, the heat and humidity took a summer vacation for us, thankfully?meaning it had been absolutely gorgeous in southeastern Indiana this week! I would take this weather the rest of the year. You can play outside in shorts, go swimming and keep the house windows open all at the same time. On Monday, Luke?s baseball practice got cancelled so we headed over to Mom & Sandy?s house as soon as Ann got home from work. This was Keith & Rosie?s last night in the state. It was good to visit with those guys one last time and the kids got along ? for the most part. We stayed pretty late, visiting and trying to talk them in to moving back to Indiana?to no avail. We had playing with Gigi?s Apple laptop and taking silly pictures with her Photo Booth program.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, I had to meet with the Airport Authority chief to discuss plans for our new generator at work. The old one died a week ago and we are putting in a much bigger one as a replacement. The new one will need to be re-located in an area that will cause us to cut down an old white pine tree. I also had to meet with the Columbus City Planning director, submit a site plan with the new alterations and then turn in an application of some sort. We actually rent the land our facility is on, as does that entire side of town. The airport owns the entire city on the north side, it seems. It was a bit scary and stressful as we were proceeding with such a big project at warp speed. It was all good in the end and was a great learning experience for me. Abby had softball practice over at North Park. Seems she hasn?t played in nearly a week and really needed a little work before their tourney started. I dropped her off and headed out to Matt?s game. His team was playing the travelling Rushville Red team that beat them a couple weeks ago in Rushville. That night was not all that different as they were eventually beaten by a few runs. Those boys have flashes of brilliance then drop a ball or throw it wildly and their pitching has been hit or miss. Matt played 2nd base and left field but didn?t have many chances that I saw. Matt went 1-2 with a single, a stolen base and one called stealing. However, he should?ve been called safe due to the defensive player blocking the bag. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Abby started off our evening with her first softball tourney game. They played Fifth Third Bank for the 3rd time?with the same result – losing a close one. Abby went 1 for 3 with a single, an RBI and a run scored. She played shortstop and made a couple plays. She also had a couple balls get past her ? not errors, but balls she probably could have gotten to – which was the storyline of the night. Our defense let us down again; several balls that could?ve been had – simply weren?t? Next it was back to diamond 1 as Matt played the travelling Triton Central who had a pitcher that threw much harder than anyone we?d seen this year. The boys, however, weren?t intimidated and were aggressive from the first inning. Matt went 2 for 3 with a couple singles, a stolen base, run scored. Coach Carey let him borrow his Derek Jeter ?Hit-A-Way??? training tool. He played second base, left and centerfield. He had a couple chances in the outfield, but one was smacked in to the gap and the other was popped up directly into the sun and he simply lost it?while at second they almost turned a 6-4-3 double play!! When we got home that night, it was nearly dark. Our neighbor Dave Green was moving some limbs he had cut from the trees in his backyard to the curb. Luke decided he needed help and no sooner had gotten out of the car before he was matter-of-factly telling us he was going to help ?Mr. Greeeeeeeen.??? \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n

Thursday gave us a little scare. We came home to pick up Luke at Brandy?s house. However, when we got there he and his 6 year old buddy were out on a bike ride around our little neighborhood. It was a big step for the boys, but a natural one. We?ve been gradually letting Luke go outside more on his own and even ride on our street along with his little friends. Brandy?s son had just learned to ride without his training wheels that morning, so this was their first little adventure and good test to earn trust. They were to do one time around the block and come back. Well, we waited about 5 minutes and decided to drive around to our house so we could get Matt ready and out to his game. I went around the block twice and even Oakley?s big brother joined the search and then Oakley?s dad joined us after about 10 minutes. I finally stopped and thought about it for a moment. So, I went out of the neighborhood and in to the one behind us, but still nothing. So I came back around and checked the woods that separated the two subdivisions. Sure enough, there were the bikes but no kids. I called out for Luke a couple times before I heard a response from inside the woods. Sure enough, he and Oakley had set off on a bigger adventure that anyone else was aware of?and ended up they were with an older boy ? one in Abby?s grade ? that had taken them in to the woods to go exploring. \ud83d\ude09 Luke was in deep doo-doo when I got him home ? as was little Oakley. The boys had a chance to really earn some trust and blew it. We had a long talk with Lucas that night and he was grounded from his bike for a week and from TV for day. Brandy & Ann even said they had to clean toilets with a toothbrush?but they got lucky when no extra toothbrushes could be found. After we got that squared away, it was time to head out at the ball park again ? this time it was to watch both Matt & Abby show their stuff. They did not disappoint! This was Abby?s second tourney game and Matt?s first. Matt?s team really looked good that night, beating the 13-year-old all-star team by nearly 10 runs. Matt was on-base four times! He went 3-3 from the plate and got a walk. He even scored a run and drove in another. The little hitting tool is really paying off! He started at 2nd base and also played left and right field. He had a couple balls hit to him and he did great, getting an assist to first on one play. Then it was off to Abby?s game. Abby?s team started slowly and looked sluggish and ready for the season to be over. Abby went 3 for 3 from the game, including a single, double and home run!! She also scored twice and had 2 RBI?s. It was her big hit ? the homer in the third inning that really turned things around for her team. The momentum swing was huge as they took the lead that inning and never looked back! She absolutely crushed the ball as she 2-hopped the left center fence! I hadn?t seen her run that fast during a game ever, I don?t think! We were so proud of her!! Defensively, she played shortstop the entire game. She had a couple of miscues, as did all the girls that night. If the one father doesn?t stop shouting negative comments to the girls, I swear I?m going to have to say something. So far I?ve bit my tongue, but it?s really starting to wear on me. The girls were so excited after the game!<\/p>\n

On Friday, things started to heat up. Where it had been getting down in to the upper 50?s at night and lower 80?s during the day, we actually turned on the A\/C the night before and it the mid-90?s this day. It was another long day at work, but it was finally Friday and it was a long holiday weekend to boot! Ann got off work at her normal early time on Fridays and took Matt up to spend the night at his best friend Brayton?s house and to help his family move in to their new house. She texted me that Luke made the front page of the newspaper, as they used a shot from last year?s 4th of July parade of him on his 4-wheeler. I came home and picked up Lukey and headed back to work security on the grounds during the annual Columbus fireworks, just down the street from the facility. I?ve worked it for the seven or so years that they?ve had the event in that area. Since Abby won her game the night before, she played again. It was the first game that I can ever remember that I wasn?t at for her. I can?t wait to see the video (hope Ann got some good ones! Abby went 2 for 2 with a walk, double and a triple!! Defensively, she played shortstop the entire game again. I noticed that during the previous game, the old mitt of mine she was using was losing its integrity and was causing a her to lose balls, so I let her use my good mitt for her game. She loved it and wants to use it again. \ud83d\ude41 Her team did great and won easily to advance to the semi-finals!! I still can?t believe I missed her hitting a triple? That night, we enjoyed the Columbus fireworks as we listened to the soundtrack on Q-Mix. Our good friend, Allen Smith was out there, on duty, working just a half-block away. My boss, Kelly, her husband Mike and their son Tyler joined us. That evening, we played Frisbee, scoop ball, baseball, caught lightning bugs and had a great time. We did have to chase a couple of teenage boys out from behind the building where they were all the attention of our girls on the inside of the 10? courtyard walls. The weather was picture perfect! We had a blast as Ann & Abby joined us after her game and the kids went out fire fly hunting. We didn?t get home until about midnight and we all collapsed in our beds, totally spent from the day… Matt brought home baseball pictures from this year?s league and we also got a cool picture with Cousin Nathan and Erik Estrada (Ponch from CHiPS)! <\/p>\n

Saturday was a fun day. We awoke to a lovely morning with the birds singing. Luke & I went over and mowed at Mom & Gigi?s house. Abby cleaned up her room and Ann went shopping. She also went up to Shelbyville to meet Natalie halfway to get the boys back from Natalie. I took the two little ones over to Columbus once I got done mowing at our house. We went to the Fireworks Emporium for our 4th of July fireworks. Ann?s doctors (George & Dan), visited this store during the week and reported excellent customer service and discount pricing, so they both texted me about it earlier in the week. It was a little hole in the wall down by Cummins, but we will use them again. When we walked in, we were shocked at the selection, amazed at the low prices and thought it was cool when one of the ladies there came over and worked out a deal for us. She asked how much we were looking to spend. When I gave her the dollar amount of our budget, she told us to get a cart and $250 of extra items, as they would charge me for the budgeted amount and that was it! How cool is that???? I talked with the Fireworks Emporium owner about his selection. He said that he used to carry Black Cat and then switched to Red Devil. He said he decided upon using Great Grizzly. He said he travels to a couple conventions around the country each year. These were the best that he saw for the money. I have to agree! We made out like bandits and easily got enough for two intense nights of fireworks. It was really cool as Matt came home that night with Brayton who spent the night with us. I took the boys around to the three fireworks stands in town. I was amazed at how highly priced the merchandise is after seeing it in Columbus this morning. We had a cookout that night with Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, Ann?s homemade macaroni & cheese, Ann?s Shallo?s dip and veggies and all sorts of different chips. Gigi had a great horseradish cheese she brought with her. We had Mom & Sandy, Dee, Jamie & Gracie and then Brayton and the five of us. Gracie won several awards earlier in the day at 4-H, where she trained her dog Lilly on obedience drills. She also won Grand Champion and brought a huge trophy over to show us! We had a great fireworks display that night that ended just as the Greensburg city fireworks started. It was a cool angle to see the fireworks inside the pool, where we invented a new game of Lukey-tossing. Some of our favorite ?cakes” from that first night included Freaky Friday, Pyrotechnic Carnival, Psycho Fury (which almost hit Grandma O!), New Music and Sky Painter (a daytime parachute). We also loved the Bad Ass Rockets (love the name) and the hammer crackers. Matt helped me pick up in the backyard afterwards, which I was thankful for? Brayton and Matt stayed up late playing the Xbox out in the playroom until the wee hours of the morning. <\/p>\n

Sunday was a lazy day. We all slept in and got up at the last minute to get ready for the Fourth of July parade uptown. Luke went back and forth on whether or not he wanted to ride his 4-wheeler. He finally ended up doing it. We got out and cleaned it up in the morning and got it all decorated up with flags and other paraphernalia. Abby walked Lola and had one of her best friends, Baili, walk Molly. They walked with Gracie, who walked Lilly and Jamie walked Muffin. It was very hot and humid. Ann, Deanna and Amy all sat together in our normal place, in front of the First Presbyterian Church. Gigi broadcasted on WTRE again from the steps of the Porter \/ Oliger funeral home. Matt & Brayton hung with her as well. Afterwards, we went back to Grandma (who had a mysterious health issue that kept from the parade for the first time that I?ve known her) & Gigi?s house. We cooled down in there and were getting ready to leave when Lola & Lilly started fighting. It was more like Lola just attacked her. We?d never seen this behavior from Lola before, but that was all we needed to see to get her and Molly out of there. We felt awful. The boys and dogs loved riding in the back of the truck on the way home! We came back and grabbed a quick bite to eat before the boys took a nap and the gals took a dip in the pool. I woke up and joined them. It was Ann?s first visit to the pool this year! The water has been perfectly balanced for a couple weeks now and is the first time that all 6 panels on the test cards have been perfectly centered ever! Baili and Gracie came over to spend the afternoon with Abby. We hung out around the house watching soccer, playing Xbox, eating leftovers, riding bikes around the neighborhood and playing more Lukey-tossing in the pool. <\/p>\n

After we had a simple dinner, we were back at it with more fireworks. It?s funny how different our two dogs are?Lola loves to chase fireworks. She jumps and runs and tries to catch them. She is currently yellow, blue and red on various parts of her body! Molly on the other hand could do without fireworks in this world. She would stay inside the entire time if we would let her?which would be fine if she hadn?t peed on Abby?s bed both last night and this night! Ann was livid? So we made Molly stay outside with us the rest of this night and ?enjoy??? the fireworks with us. We started off with lots of rockets and fire crackers. Luke & Jamie played catch for a long time. Matt & I modified our Piccolo Pete?s to make them blow up (which he thought was pretty cool!). Poor Matt got nailed by a hammer cracker right in the gut. It gave him a welt that was reminiscent of last weekend when he went paint balling and came home with a couple doozies. This one was pretty awful as well. We were teasing him, calling it his third nipple. He said it was his 2nd belly button; that he now had both an ?innie??? & an ?outie!??? \ud83d\ude1b Some of our favorite cakes from this go-round included Pistol Whip, Evil Eye, Rock the Block, Ricochet, Higher & Higher, Ghost Rider, and our dual grand finales, Virtual Impact & Black Dynamite! Matt & I got the outside all cleaned up after everyone left and then he, I and Brayton all went for a late night swim since Brayton was staying over a second night with us. It was a perfect end to a perfect day?<\/p>\n

It was a great week and we made lots of memories we?ll remember for a long time. But let?s look back at some other memories from years past now with the Waybac feature. It finally cooled down a little at the start of this week, but the reprieve sure didn?t last long… But for a short time, the heat and humidity took a summer vacation for us, thankfully?meaning it had been absolutely gorgeous in southeastern Indiana this week! I would take this weather the rest of the year. You can play outside in shorts, go swimming and keep the house windows open all at the same time. On Monday, Luke?s baseball practice got cancelled so we headed over to Mom & Sandy?s house as soon as Ann got home from work. This was Keith & Rosie?s last night in the state. It was good to visit with those guys one last time and the kids got along ? for the most part. We stayed pretty late, visiting and trying to talk them in to moving back to Indiana?to no avail. We had playing with Gigi?s Apple laptop and taking silly pictures with her Photo Booth program.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, I had to meet with the Airport Authority chief to discuss plans for our new generator at work. The old one died a week ago and we are putting in a much bigger one as a replacement. The new one will need to be re-located in an area that will cause us to cut down an old white pine tree. I also had to meet with the Columbus City Planning director, submit a site plan with the new alterations and then turn in an application of some sort. We actually rent the land our facility is on, as does that entire side of town. The airport owns the entire city on the north side, it seems. It was a bit scary and stressful as we were proceeding with such a big project at warp speed. It was all good in the end and was a great learning experience for me. Abby had softball practice over at North Park. Seems she hasn?t played in nearly a week and really needed a little work before their tourney started. I dropped her off and headed out to Matt?s game. His team was playing the travelling Rushville Red team that beat them a couple weeks ago in Rushville. That night was not all that different as they were eventually beaten by a few runs. Those boys have flashes of brilliance then drop a ball or throw it wildly and their pitching has been hit or miss. Matt played 2nd base and left field but didn?t have many chances that I saw. Matt went 1-2 with a single, a stolen base and one called stealing. However, he should?ve been called safe due to the defensive player blocking the bag. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Abby started off our evening with her first softball tourney game. They played Fifth Third Bank for the 3rd time?with the same result – losing a close one. Abby went 1 for 3 with a single, an RBI and a run scored. She played shortstop and made a couple plays. She also had a couple balls get past her ? not errors, but balls she probably could have gotten to – which was the storyline of the night. Our defense let us down again; several balls that could?ve been had – simply weren?t? Next it was back to diamond 1 as Matt played the travelling Triton Central who had a pitcher that threw much harder than anyone we?d seen this year. The boys, however, weren?t intimidated and were aggressive from the first inning. Matt went 2 for 3 with a couple singles, a stolen base, run scored. Coach Carey let him borrow his Derek Jeter ?Hit-A-Way??? training tool. He played second base, left and centerfield. He had a couple chances in the outfield, but one was smacked in to the gap and the other was popped up directly into the sun and he simply lost it?while at second they almost turned a 6-4-3 double play!! When we got home that night, it was nearly dark. Our neighbor Dave Green was moving some limbs he had cut from the trees in his backyard to the curb. Luke decided he needed help and no sooner had gotten out of the car before he was matter-of-factly telling us he was going to help ?Mr. Greeeeeeeen.??? \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Thursday gave us a little scare. We came home to pick up Luke at Brandy?s house. However, when we got there he and his 6 year old buddy were out on a bike ride around our little neighborhood. It was a big step for the boys, but a natural one. We?ve been gradually letting Luke go outside more on his own and even ride on our street along with his little friends. Brandy?s son had just learned to ride without his training wheels that morning, so this was their first little adventure and good test to earn trust. They were to do one time around the block and come back. Well, we waited about 5 minutes and decided to drive around to our house so we could get Matt ready and out to his game. I went around the block twice and even Oakley?s big brother joined the search and then Oakley?s dad joined us after about 10 minutes. I finally stopped and thought about it for a moment. So, I went out of the neighborhood and in to the one behind us, but still nothing. So I came back around and checked the woods that separated the two subdivisions. Sure enough, there were the bikes but no kids. I called out for Luke a couple times before I heard a response from inside the woods. Sure enough, he and Oakley had set off on a bigger adventure that anyone else was aware of?and ended up they were with an older boy ? one in Abby?s grade ? that had taken them in to the woods to go exploring. \ud83d\ude09 Luke was in deep doo-doo when I got him home ? as was little Oakley. The boys had a chance to really earn some trust and blew it. We had a long talk with Lucas that night and he was grounded from his bike for a week and from TV for day. Brandy & Ann even said they had to clean toilets with a toothbrush?but they got lucky when no extra toothbrushes could be found. After we got that squared away, it was time to head out at the ball park again ? this time it was to watch both Matt & Abby show their stuff. They did not disappoint! This was Abby?s second tourney game and Matt?s first. Matt?s team really looked good that night, beating the 13-year-old all-star team by nearly 10 runs. Matt was on-base four times! He went 3-3 from the plate and got a walk. He even scored a run and drove in another. The little hitting tool is really paying off! He started at 2nd base and also played left and right field. He had a couple balls hit to him and he did great, getting an assist to first on one play. Then it was off to Abby?s game. Abby?s team started slowly and looked sluggish and ready for the season to be over. Abby went 3 for 3 from the game, including a single, double and home run!! She also scored twice and had 2 RBI?s. It was her big hit ? the homer in the third inning that really turned things around for her team. The momentum swing was huge as they took the lead that inning and never looked back! She absolutely crushed the ball as she 2-hopped the left center fence! I hadn?t seen her run that fast during a game ever, I don?t think! We were so proud of her!! Defensively, she played shortstop the entire game. She had a couple of miscues, as did all the girls that night. If the one father doesn?t stop shouting negative comments to the girls, I swear I?m going to have to say something. So far I?ve bit my tongue, but it?s really starting to wear on me. The girls were so excited after the game!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On Friday, things started to heat up. Where it had been getting down in to the upper 50?s at night and lower 80?s during the day, we actually turned on the A\/C the night before and it the mid-90?s this day. It was another long day at work, but it was finally Friday and it was a long holiday weekend to boot! Ann got off work at her normal early time on Fridays and took Matt up to spend the night at his best friend Brayton?s house and to help his family move in to their new house. She texted me that Luke made the front page of the newspaper, as they used a shot from last year?s 4th of July parade of him on his 4-wheeler. I came home and picked up Lukey and headed back to work security on the grounds during the annual Columbus fireworks, just down the street from the facility. I?ve worked it for the seven or so years that they?ve had the event in that area. Since Abby won her game the night before, she played again. It was the first game that I can ever remember that I wasn?t at for her. I can?t wait to see the video (hope Ann got some good ones! Abby went 2 for 2 with a walk, double and a triple!! Defensively, she played shortstop the entire game again. I noticed that during the previous game, the old mitt of mine she was using was losing its integrity and was causing a her to lose balls, so I let her use my good mitt for her game. She loved it and wants to use it again. \ud83d\ude41 Her team did great and won easily to advance to the semi-finals!! I still can?t believe I missed her hitting a triple? That night, we enjoyed the Columbus fireworks as we listened to the soundtrack on Q-Mix. Our good friend, Allen Smith was out there, on duty, working just a half-block away. My boss, Kelly, her husband Mike and their son Tyler joined us. That evening, we played Frisbee, scoop ball, baseball, caught lightning bugs and had a great time. We did have to chase a couple of teenage boys out from behind the building where they were all the attention of our girls on the inside of the 10? courtyard walls. The weather was picture perfect! We had a blast as Ann & Abby joined us after her game and the kids went out fire fly hunting. We didn?t get home until about midnight and we all collapsed in our beds, totally spent from the day… Matt brought home baseball pictures from this year?s league and we also got a cool picture with Cousin Nathan and Erik Estrada (Ponch from CHiPS)! <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Saturday was a fun day. We awoke to a lovely morning with the birds singing. Luke & I went over and mowed at Mom & Gigi?s house. Abby cleaned up her room and Ann went shopping. She also went up to Shelbyville to meet Natalie halfway to get the boys back from Natalie. I took the two little ones over to Columbus once I got done mowing at our house. We went to the Fireworks Emporium for our 4th of July fireworks. Ann?s doctors (George & Dan), visited this store during the week and reported excellent customer service and discount pricing, so they both texted me about it earlier in the week. It was a little hole in the wall down by Cummins, but we will use them again. When we walked in, we were shocked at the selection, amazed at the low prices and thought it was cool when one of the ladies there came over and worked out a deal for us. She asked how much we were looking to spend. When I gave her the dollar amount of our budget, she told us to get a cart and $250 of extra items, as they would charge me for the budgeted amount and that was it! How cool is that???? I talked with the Fireworks Emporium owner about his selection. He said that he used to carry Black Cat and then switched to Red Devil. He said he decided upon using Great Grizzly. He said he travels to a couple conventions around the country each year. These were the best that he saw for the money. I have to agree! We made out like bandits and easily got enough for two intense nights of fireworks. It was really cool as Matt came home that night with Brayton who spent the night with us. I took the boys around to the three fireworks stands in town. I was amazed at how highly priced the merchandise is after seeing it in Columbus this morning. We had a cookout that night with Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, Ann?s homemade macaroni & cheese, Ann?s Shallo?s dip and veggies and all sorts of different chips. Gigi had a great horseradish cheese she brought with her. We had Mom & Sandy, Dee, Jamie & Gracie and then Brayton and the five of us. Gracie won several awards earlier in the day at 4-H, where she trained her dog Lilly on obedience drills. She also won Grand Champion and brought a huge trophy over to show us! We had a great fireworks display that night that ended just as the Greensburg city fireworks started. It was a cool angle to see the fireworks inside the pool, where we invented a new game of Lukey-tossing. Some of our favorite ?cakes” from that first night included Freaky Friday, Pyrotechnic Carnival, Psycho Fury (which almost hit Grandma O!), New Music and Sky Painter (a daytime parachute). We also loved the Bad Ass Rockets (love the name) and the hammer crackers. Matt helped me pick up in the backyard afterwards, which I was thankful for? Brayton and Matt stayed up late playing the Xbox out in the playroom until the wee hours of the morning. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sunday was a lazy day. We all slept in and got up at the last minute to get ready for the Fourth of July parade uptown. Luke went back and forth on whether or not he wanted to ride his 4-wheeler. He finally ended up doing it. We got out and cleaned it up in the morning and got it all decorated up with flags and other paraphernalia. Abby walked Lola and had one of her best friends, Baili, walk Molly. They walked with Gracie, who walked Lilly and Jamie walked Muffin. It was very hot and humid. Ann, Deanna and Amy all sat together in our normal place, in front of the First Presbyterian Church. Gigi broadcasted on WTRE again from the steps of the Porter \/ Oliger funeral home. Matt & Brayton hung with her as well. Afterwards, we went back to Grandma (who had a mysterious health issue that kept from the parade for the first time that I?ve known her) & Gigi?s house. We cooled down in there and were getting ready to leave when Lola & Lilly started fighting. It was more like Lola just attacked her. We?d never seen this behavior from Lola before, but that was all we needed to see to get her and Molly out of there. We felt awful. The boys and dogs loved riding in the back of the truck on the way home! We came back and grabbed a quick bite to eat before the boys took a nap and the gals took a dip in the pool. I woke up and joined them. It was Ann?s first visit to the pool this year! The water has been perfectly balanced for a couple weeks now and is the first time that all 6 panels on the test cards have been perfectly centered ever! Baili and Gracie came over to spend the afternoon with Abby. We hung out around the house watching soccer, playing Xbox, eating leftovers, riding bikes around the neighborhood and playing more Lukey-tossing in the pool. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

After we had a simple dinner, we were back at it with more fireworks. It?s funny how different our two dogs are?Lola loves to chase fireworks. She jumps and runs and tries to catch them. She is currently yellow, blue and red on various parts of her body! Molly on the other hand could do without fireworks in this world. She would stay inside the entire time if we would let her?which would be fine if she hadn?t peed on Abby?s bed both last night and this night! Ann was livid? So we made Molly stay outside with us the rest of this night and ?enjoy??? the fireworks with us. We started off with lots of rockets and fire crackers. Luke & Jamie played catch for a long time. Matt & I modified our Piccolo Pete?s to make them blow up (which he thought was pretty cool!). Poor Matt got nailed by a hammer cracker right in the gut. It gave him a welt that was reminiscent of last weekend when he went paint balling and came home with a couple doozies. This one was pretty awful as well. We were teasing him, calling it his third nipple. He said it was his 2nd belly button; that he now had both an ?innie??? & an ?outie!??? \ud83d\ude1b Some of our favorite cakes from this go-round included Pistol Whip, Evil Eye, Rock the Block, Ricochet, Higher & Higher, Ghost Rider, and our dual grand finales, Virtual Impact & Black Dynamite! Matt & I got the outside all cleaned up after everyone left and then he, I and Brayton all went for a late night swim since Brayton was staying over a second night with us. It was a perfect end to a perfect day?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
