Bunny Days

Things are beginning to pick up again, here at the Scheu abode…  We had a nice, quiet Easter as Grandma & Gigi were in New York (visiting Keith & Rosie) and Ron & Sandy moved to Florida.  Since Matt was still recuperating from his surgery, Tom wasn’t able to help them with the move.  But, Vird and Sharon & Dan were able to help load the truck… and Robby came up and also helped – in fact, he even went on down to Florida with them and helped get them moved in to the new house.

We decorated the Easter trees and colored Easter eggs…

On Easter day, we had our annual egg hunt.  As in the two years past, we had to move it indoors due to below-freezing weather.  The bunny also hid their baskets for the first time this year, making the hunt a little more interesting for the big brother.  In the matriarchal absence, Ann created her inaugural Easter meal successfully…

The following weekend, Grandma & Gigi were back and Matt was better, so we had a second Easter dinner – this time at their house.  Gotta love getting two special dinners and twice the candy for the price of one holiday!

Abby had Family Fun Night this past week. While Matt stayed with Gigi, Grandma came with the rest of us.  Ann helped Abby with a project in her classroom before we all went to the cafeteria for three songs from Abby and her grade and a spaghetti dinner.  Abby is doing very well in school, as her report cards will attest. She continues to participate in a special advanced class and scored 210 out of 215 on her Northwest Testing!  Way to go Bu!!

Matt was given a clean bill health on Friday and was released to return to physical activities (drums, track and baseball!!).  He had a band performance yesterday in Columbus.  He played four percussion instruments during three songs, on the way to the group earning a gold medal!  Afterwards, we went to Jonny Carino’s – which in and of itself has become something of a tradition after band events…  Matt had his best friend Brayton down for the weekend and Abby ended up staying the night at her best friend Megan’s house on Friday.

Matt has recovered nicely from his tonsil and adenoid surgery. He was down pretty hard for about five days and then he was fine.  We are proud of how well he has done with his recovery and following the doctor’s orders.  We continue to adjust to having a new little one running around the house.  Ann and Tom haven’t had animals in the house since they were kids.  Ann has shown no signs of serious allergic reactions thus far, so we are hopeful in that aspect.  Lola has done well adapting to our lifestyle as well.  She loves to be outside with the kids and seems to prefer to sleep with Abby at night.  Luke begins t-ball next week, so we can only assume that softball and baseball won’t be far behind. We are looking forward to warmer weather, outside projects and opening the pool.  See you at the ball diamonds…
