Room for One More?

What a big week it was for the Scheumann family!  The weather continued its rollercoaster ride.  We had torrential downpours with bad flooding in the area.  On the other hand, the weather was more consistently in the 60s, meaning more and more time spent outdoors.

Matt had a successful tonsellectomy (among other procedures) on Wednesday.  He was a brave soldier, but is really feeling bad today…  To compensate, he had two birthday parties, one last Sunday (when he could still eat cake!) and one actually today (on his birthday) – when he could only bear ice cream…  It’s hard to believe that he’s already 12, but he absolutely looks older in the pictures below.

We just had a small get together this year for him.  Grandma (who made the delicious cake!) and Gigi were there of course, along with  Chad, Dee & Gracie…and even Phyllis and Dick.  Gracie stuck around afterward and we all had a great time playing wiffleball out in the frontyard for a few hours!  Sadly however, the next day after the party Dick was admitted to the hospital for emergency quintuple bipass heart surgery.  Our thoughts and prayers are with him for a speedy recovery.

We were also blessed with a new addition to our family.  We adopted a beautiful young West Highland Terrier.  Lola is adorable and very well behaved.  She is wonderful with the kids and is a real lover.  She enjoys playing with the kids ourdoors and we can hardly wait until summer comes so we can spend more time playing with her in the backyard!
