Dull moments are few and far between these days for the Scheumann household. Between sporting events, school events, dance, band concerts, doctor appointments, yard work and oh yeah…our regular jobs – we’ve really relied on the calendar (and our smart phones) to help keep it all straight! We’ve got lots of new pictures this time around, so let’s get to it…
Matthew has played 7 baseball games so far. He has is batting around .300, playing mostly center field and 2nd base. He has also played in left and right field, as well as 3rd base and catcher. He is finding it hard to hit the curveball but has kept a (mostly) positive attitude. He hasn’t had this much fun since Tom coached his Devilrays team back in 2004! He also had his last band concert of the year, playing bells, snare drum and suspended cymbal. In addition, he attended the GJHS track & field awards banquet, lettering in track!
Abby was equally as busy. She played 5 softball games and is batting nearly .800! She has played catcher, 3rd base and pitcher. She participated in three dances during the Dixon Dance Revue, culminating 9 months of hard work. Abby did a fantastic job and earned 2 trophies (from Grandma) and was named Runner-up Little Miss Personality!
Luke finished school, being the leader and attending two fun outings. First he went to the Stapp Farm and got to learn about and pet the animals. Next, he and Ann attended the year-end pitch-in at the park. He played in 5 baseball games, playing catcher and infield. He is hitting the ball well, but still occasionally has to use the tee (they only get 3 chances to hit the ball).
Ann received flowers and a year’s worth of popcorn for Mother’s Day. She and the kids planted their annual flowers out front, making the front yard come alive with color. Tom attended an Indianapolis Indians baseball game with the kids from work, as part of Education Day at Victory Field.
We are all looking forward to a fun holiday weekend with friends and family and taking some well-deserved time away from our hectic schedule! Happy Memorial Day…
